Dear [First Name]

So ... You've Been Wondering ...

What's This Friday Gala Show All About?

In honour of its historic centennial anniversary, on Friday May 23rd, 2014, Magee Secondary School will celebrate 100 years in grand style at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre starting with a reception at 6:30 followed by a live gala show produced by Magee Alumni and award-winning show producer, Patrick Roberge '82.

"The Magee Centennial Celebration show will celebrate 100 years of excellence and distinction while toasting Magee's bright future. 'We are Magee' will be a theme theatrically woven through a fast-paced evening of celebration," says Roberge.

The show will feature a cast of over 200 performers, including surprise guest appearances from notable Magee Alumni; film and television personalities; business leaders; and sport celebrities.

Joining in the celebration will be special performances by Magee's Mainstage Theatre Program in their production of Footloose as well as Magee Music's chamber choir, string ensemble and stage band.

The Magee story will also include video compilations and live performances, surprise Alumni musical acts and performances by the Goh Ballet, concert pianist Avan Yu, ballerina Nicole Caron, and a special appearance by Centennial Honorary Patron, legendary band leader Dal Richards.

Friday night's festivities will kick-off a weekend of celebrations. Past, present and future Magee students are invited to join in the festivities of a true Vancouver landmark in its Centennial year. The school's Centennial Celebrations will extend over two days and incorporate three separate events, including community celebrations in Kerrisdale Saturday morning and an Open House at the school itself Saturday afternoon.

As a Magee '82 Alumni and award-winning show producer, Patrick Roberge is proud to direct Friday night's gala evening. Patrick is President and Creative Director of PRP, a company with over 25 years of experience producing high-profile international events and entertainment including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, entertainment programming at the Fair at the PNE as well as several Grey Cup Halftime shows.
