Magee Centennial Celebration Book(s)
Doug Sturrock,
retired Magee Teacher (PE Department Head, 1972 - 1998), and his team
of researchers and writers have produced a Magee Centennial Celebration
book (1990 - 2014). This is a full color, hard cover, labor of love
comprising nearly 275 pages of Magee's history over the past 25 years.
A Special Centennial Supplement covering Event Day will be produced
following the Centennial.
The Magee 75th
Anniversary book (1914 - 1989), which was produced in 1989 by W.B.
McNulty and his team, will also be available on a "reprint to
order" basis. This soft cover, 352 page history of Magee's first
75 years is a "must have" if you do not already possess a
copy.
Magee Secondary School
An Open House will be
held at Magee Secondary School on Saturday May 24th 2014
from 11:00 to 5:00 PM. Teachers, Staff, and Students at Magee are now
in the process of incorporating Centennial Celebration plans into this
year's activities. School tours, student performances, food and
refreshments, memorabilia, a photo booth, etc will no doubt be
included. In addition, an emerging theme may be "Future Trends and
Directions in Education" and how these will support continued
"Success and Excellence".
Magee Secondary will also
be the location to pick up your copy of the new, hard cover, Magee
Centennial Celebration book (1990 - 2014). The Special Centennial
Supplement covering Event Day will be produced and distributed by
mail/pickup at Magee in the weeks following the Centennial.
Orders will also be taken
at the school for the Magee 75th Anniversary book (1914 -
1989) which will be reprinted to meet orders after the Centennial.
